Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova appreciated the fact that the Strongest Spartakiad was held without figure skaters Kamila Valieva and Sofia Muravyova. His words were quoted “Soviet sport”.

“Despite the absence of Kamila Valieva and Sofia Muravyova in Spartakiad, I think the level of competition in the tournament has not decreased. And everything is fine without them. However, we would really enjoy watching if they participated in the competition, we love them so much! I think we will wait for the moment when they come on stage again,” Tarasova said.

After the girls’ short program at Spartakiad, Eteri Tutberidze’s student Adelia Petrosyan takes the lead. Anna Frolova lost to her by just over nine points. Ksenia Sinitsyna is 10 points behind the leader.

Valieva missed the Spartakiad because she was disqualified for doping, and Muravyova missed it for medical reasons.

In March 2022, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended Russian and Belarusian athletes from competitions. In the last two seasons they focused on local competitions (Russian Grand Prix stages and the national championship).
