Olympic champion in figure skating and ice dancing Roman Kostomarov talked about how his recovery was going after amputation. In an interview with MSK1.ru, he shared his plans to participate in ice shows.
“I mostly do fitness; I ride a bike, I walk on the road. I can still swim. I’m swimming slowly. My plan is to attend the annual ice show of my friend Ilya Averbukh. In general, I always try to be closer to the people and the atmosphere I am in. “Right now I feel like nothing happened to me,” the athlete said.
At the beginning of January 2023, Roman Kostomarov was hospitalized after New Year’s performances at an open-air show. It was reported that he was in intensive care due to pneumonia and was connected to a ventilator, and his condition was evaluated to be extremely serious. He later received treatment at Kommunarka. Parts of his arms and legs were amputated.
