Popular Russian MMA fighter Alexander Shlemenko responded positively to the adoption of the federal law banning the sale of alcohol in apartment buildings. His words are quoted “Championship”.

“In fact, this is the longest-awaited, most troublesome bill and it has finally been reached to its logical end. These “nalivaykis” are a real scourge of our country and I am glad that our president supports this law.

“I congratulate everyone who is fighting for people to stay sober – and there are many such people – on this small but victory,” Shlemenko said.

The athlete also added that more than 10 years ago he participated in a strike in his hometown of Omsk in support of this bill.

In July 2023, Shlemenko defeated Brazilian Alex Oliveira in the first round at a tournament in Omsk.

Shlemenko had 78 fights in mixed martial arts and had 62 wins and 15 defeats. One fight involving a Russian ended in a draw, while another was declared void.

Shlemenko has been performing professionally since 2004 and is best known for his participation in tournaments of the American organization Bellator MMA. He held the middleweight title and defended it three times.

Previously Ismailov requested 50 million for the rematch with Shlemenko.
