Lokomotiv Chairman Yuri Nagornykh said that he was pleased that the team’s defender Nair Tiknizyan did not leave the club during the winter transfer period. His words are quoted “Match TV”.

“Tiknizyan may leave Lokomotiv this winter. I’m glad he stayed. The desire not to make money but to keep a good player is always a very difficult choice. He stayed and is a Lokomotiv player.

It was his decision. We are committed to the principle that we will not interfere with a transfer if the offer suits the club and the player. This is a distinctive feature of Lokomotiv,” said Nagornykh.

On January 25, the media reported that Tiknizyan’s transfer to Zenit was disrupted.

In the summer of 2021, Tiknizyan transferred to the CSKA team, where he was a student, and became a Lokomotiv player. The defender played for the Russian youth team and participated in the 2020 European Championship.

Tiknizyan played in 16 matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season and scored six goals and two assists.
