Lawyer Ilya Prokofiev evaluated the possibility of extradition of Spartak Moscow striker Quincy Promes from the UAE to the Netherlands due to a criminal case. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“We can say that this is extremely possible, as there is an extradition agreement between the UAE and the Netherlands regarding a prison sentence of at least one year. “With the highest probability, this is possible and the sentence may come into force,” Prokofiev said.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes to six years in prison for cocaine trafficking. The hearing of the case was held on January 24, and the prosecutor’s office requested that Promesa be sentenced to 9 years in prison. The striker is currently in the red-whites training camp in the UAE.
Promes has been playing for Spartak since February 2021. This is his second time joining the team. He played for the red-whites between 2014 and 2018. The Dutch player became the Russian champion with the team in the 2016/17 season.
The Dutch player played 17 matches (6+6) in the Russian Championship this season.
