Tampa Bay Lightning’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov repeated the success of many famous hockey players by scoring his 90th point this season in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL) against the Boston Bruins (3:2 D).
Kucherov needed only 53 games to get 90 points.
The 30-year-old forward became the sixth player in the NHL in the last 30 years to score 90-plus points in 55 or fewer regular-season games. Kucherov repeated the success of five world legends: Wayne Gretzky (1993/1994), Jaromir Jagr (1995/1996), Mario Lemieux (1985/1996, 1996/1997), Sidney Crosby (2006/2007) and Connor McDavid (2020/ 2021, 2022/2023).
The Russian striker extended his goal streak to eight matches. Kucherov played a total of 53 games in the NHL this season, scoring 34 goals and 56 assists, reaching 90 points for the first time this season.
Kucherov finished fourth (30+82) in the NHL regular season last season, behind David Pastrnak (113 points), Leon Draisaitl (129 points) and Connor McDavid (153 points).
Tampa won its second straight game. Boston lost for the second time in a row.
