Former CSKA player Daniel Carvalho explained why so many Brazilians play in the Russian Premier League (RPL). He shared his opinion with him “Sports Express”.
“In our best years at CSKA, we even had seven Brazilians! And we won! It is easier to have 50 Brazilian players in the RPL than to have one Russian player in the Brazilian league. For two reasons: the Russians have the money to pay, but the Brazilians do not,” said Carvalho.
Carvalho played for CSKA from 2004 to 2010. In the red-dark blue team, he became the Russian champion twice, won the Russian Super Cup three times, also won four national cups and won the UEFA Cup.
On March 25, the 40-year-old Brazilian played for CSKA in a friendly match against amateur team 2Drots (1:2).
CSKA is in eighth place in the Russian Premier League (RPL) rankings with 28 points.
