Tampa Bay Lightning’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov continues to lead the National Hockey League (NHL) scoring race in the 2023/24 season.
In the NHL regular season game against the Columbus Blue Jackets, which ended in a 4:2 victory for the Lightning, Kucherov scored two points and assisted his teammates twice. Thus, the Russian forward extended his scoring streak to seven matches. Kucherov played a total of 52 games in the NHL this season, scoring 33 goals and 56 assists.
Kucherov continues to lead the top scorers list with 89 points. Colorado forward Nathan MacKinnon remains in second place. He has 85 points (32+53). The 28-year-old Canadian player was not effective in the match against Florida (0:4). Czech Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak completed the top three with 75 points (33+42).
Last season, Kucherov finished fourth (30+82) in the NHL regular season behind Pastrnak (113 points), Leon Draisaitl (129 points) and Connor McDavid (153 points).
Previously NHL punished Russian hockey player was disqualified and heavily fined for hitting a player in the head.
