The press service of the Russian Anti-Doping Agency (RUSADA) clarified under what conditions Kamila Valieva could participate in ice shows during the disqualification “Sports Express”.

RUSADA noted that interaction with Valieva, who participated in the show, did not carry the risk of being accused of prohibited cooperation in case the athlete’s staff did not fulfill their functions. The organization also said that participation in the show could also pose a risk to the athlete himself.

“If the organizers of the demonstration involve certain organizations, there may be a violation of the disqualification conditions. “This could result in the enforcement period doubling,” he said.

On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) found Valieva guilty of doping and disqualified the athlete. On February 7, CAS published its reasoning. The Russian side claimed that the banned substance entered Valieva’s body as a result of eating the dessert prepared by her grandfather. The medicine she used during the cooking process could contaminate her food.

Valieva won gold in the team tournament at the 2022 Games in China as part of the Russian national team. On January 30, the International Skating Union (ISU) reviewed the results of the competition and decided to take gold from the Russian team.

Previously Eteri Tutberidze’s team Valieva removed from posters of their shows.
