Washington Capitals’ Russian forward Alexander Ovechkin and Florida Panthers’ American forward Matthew Tkachuk exchanged stick pokes in one of the game parts of the National Hockey League (NHL) regular season match.
In the third period, Ovechkin got into an argument with Tkachuk. In one of the episodes, the Russian pushed the American and stabbed him in the stomach with a stick. The match referees did not take this part into consideration.
The meeting took place at Amerant Bank Arena in Sunrise and ended with a 4:2 win for Florida. The winners’ goals were scored by Matthew Tkachuk, Sam Rinehart, Ryan Lomberg and Eetu Luostarinen. Alexander Ovechkin and Anthony Mantha scored the guest team’s goals.
