Russian Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev spoke on his social networks about the terrible injury he received in a National Hockey League (NHL) match.
“Why me? Why now? Come back after all the missed matches and get injured again. I feel the injustice, I feel so bad. I try to stay calm and stay positive. After doing everything right, I realized this. The universe is unpredictable. I think he has his own plan too “But damn the universe, I know I will come back stronger and play better than before. It’s hard now and it will be hard tomorrow too,” Sergachev wrote.
On February 8, during an NHL regular season game against the New York Rangers, Sergachev collided with opposing player Alexi Lafreniere. The Russian could only get off the ice on a stretcher.
It is worth noting that Sergachev has not been on the ice since December 20, 2023. He missed 17 games due to injury. This NHL season, the Russian defenseman played in 34 games, scoring two goals and making 18 assists.
Sergachev has been playing in Tampa since 2017. During that time, he lifted the Stanley Cup over his head twice (2020, 2021).
