Former Lokomotiv Moscow striker Dmitry Bulykin said in an interview with socialbites.ca that Spartak will not have any difficulties in replacing defender Georgy Dzhikia, who may leave the club.

According to him, the red-whites have not trusted their captain for a long time and cope without him in official matches.

“As I understand it, Spartak has been playing without Dzhikia for a long time and believes that it is quite possible to do without him. The club doesn’t trust him, so it all depends on how he behaves. I do not rule out that the club may part with the player in this transfer window in order to avoid discontent and save on wages,” Bulykin said.

Dzhikia has been playing for Spartak since 2017. With the club he won the championship and the Russian Cup. The defender has only played in six of a possible 17 matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season. His contract with his club expires in June 2024.

Dzhikia has been a member of the Russian national team since 2017. He played 44 matches with the national team jersey.
