“We do not want to see Russia as a participating country. It would be incredible and wrong for one country to have athletes at the top while the other has athletes at the Granocene. Therefore, my message to Russian athletes is this: You are not welcome at the World Cup in Trondheim,” said Ranum.
The World Ski Championships will take place in Trondheim from 26 February to 9 March 2025.
At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.
