The Colorado Avalanche sent Russian goaltender Ivan Prosvetov to his farm club in the American Hockey League (AHL). This was reported by press service teams.

On February 3, the Avalanche claimed the Russian player off waivers, but within 24 hours, none of the National Hockey League (NHL) clubs were able to pick him up.

Prosvetov joined Colorado’s roster in October 2023. It is noteworthy that the club acquired the goaltender from the waiver draft placed by the Arizona Coyotes.

24-year-old Prosvetov played in 11 regular season matches this season and won four of them. It has a save percentage of 89.5% with a safety factor of 3.16. He last appeared on the ice in a game against the Florida Panthers on January 7 (4:8) and was substituted during the game after missing four goals.

The Russian hockey player went to the United States in 2016, where he played for two seasons for the Minnesota Majits (North American Hockey League, 2016/17) and Youngstown Phantoms (US Hockey League, 2017/18). Prosvetov was selected in the fourth round, 114th overall, by the Arizona Coyotes in 2018. While he had never played a single game for the Russian national team at any age, at the age of 18 he became the first Russian hockey player to be selected in the early rounds of the draft.
