About the Borodin Valieva case: politics and the fear of our heroes

Famous TV presenter Ksenia Borodina answered questions from subscribers on her Instagram Stories page (the owner of the Meta company is known as an extremist and was banned in Russia) and talked about her attitude towards the disqualification of Russian skater Kamila Valieva. She was suspended for an anti-doping rule violation.

“Strength and patience. A cruel injustice to talent. Frankly, this is politics and the fear of our heroes. “You are number one in the eyes of your people,” Borodina wrote.

On January 29, the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) suspended Valieva for four years for violating anti-doping rules due to the presence of a banned substance in her blood. The penalty period begins in December 2021. The athlete lost the title of 2022 European champion.

As part of the Russian national team at the 2022 Olympic Games, Valieva took first place in the team tournament and fourth in the individual championship. After his disqualification, the International Skating Union (ISU) awarded the Russians third place, without depriving Russia of the overall medals. Gold went to the US team and silver went to the Japanese team.
