Coach Zhulin on Valieva’s disqualification: The West wants to turn the Russian Federation into North Korea

The four-year disqualification of Russian figure skater Kamila Valieva has political overtones, coach Alexander Zhulin said. “AiF”.

“It seems to me that the West’s task is to turn Russia into North Korea. And they achieve this methodically. They are outraged that Russia has more mineral reserves than anywhere else in the world,” Zhulin said.

Zhulin also stated that Valieva was supposed to become a ballerina at the Bolshoi Theater, but she chose figure skating.

A scandal broke out around Valieva at the 2022 Winter Olympics. The day after the Russian team and the figure skater won the team tournament, it was learned that traces of the banned drug trimetazidine were found in the doping test of student Eteri Tutberidze.

The Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) will announce its decision in the Kamila Valieva doping case on January 29, 2024.
