TV host and NBC Sports reporter Pierre McGuire shared his memories of Russian forward and Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin, whom he crossed paths with at the National Hockey League (NHL) All-Star Game in 2015. His words guide the way Athletic.
“Ovechkin was a good athlete. He became an outstanding ambassador for the league. “I know people in Washington worship the water he walks on, but I think more people need to know what a great ambassador he is for sports,” he said.
