Ukrainian boxer Ivan Redkach posted a joint photo with Russian Dmitry Bivol on social networks.
“We need to separate sports from politics. Even though this principle goes down in history and I have to admit that they are inseparable, for me, sports remain outside of politics.
No matter how hard the athletes work, in this case, not a single politician works with blood and sweat. If he only sweats while counting the state budget in his pocket, ”the Ukrainian wrote.
The 36-year-old Redkach spent 23 fights in professional boxing and won 18 victories.
Earlier, it was reported that Russian boxer Artur Beterbiev was after defeating American Joe Smith Jr. discussed to the World Boxing Council (WBC) with a request to hold a duel with his compatriot Dmitry Bivol.
Recall that in May of this year Bivol defended his belt in a fight against Saul Alvarez. The fight lasted all 12 rounds and ended in victory with the unanimous decision of the 31-year-old representative of Russia.
