New York Rangers defeated the Ottawa Senators in a regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL). The match was played at the Canadian Tire Center in Ottawa and ended with a score of 7:2 for the visiting team.
Brady Tkachuk and Jacob Chickran scored for Ottawa. Russian players Vladimir Tarasenko and Artem Zub could not score effective points.
The winners’ goals were scored by Alexi Lafreniere, Chris Kreider, Zach Jones, Johnny Brodzinski, Blake Wheeler, Artemi Panarin and Kaapo Kakko. Panarin also had two assists. The Russian player was recognized as the second star of the match. He played in 49 matches this season, scoring 30 goals and 36 assists.
Panarin became the first player in Rangers history to record 60 points in 43 or fewer games in at least two seasons since the start of the regular season.
Panarin has been playing for the New York Rangers since 2019. He previously played in the National Hockey League for the Columbus Blue Jackets and Chicago Blackhawks.
