Sabalenka wins Australian Open for second consecutive time

Belarusian tennis player Aryna Sabalenka retained her championship title by winning the final match of the Australian Open against Chinese Zheng Qingwen with scores of 6:3 and 6:2.

The duration of the match lasted 1 hour and 16 minutes.

On her way to the final, the Belarusian tennis player defeated Germany’s Ella Seidel, Czech Republic’s Brenda Fruhvirtova, Ukrainian Lesya Tsurenko, American Amanda Anisimova, Czech Barbora Krejcikova and another US representative, Cori Gauff.

Daniil Medvedev and Italian Jannik Sinner will compete in the men’s final.

Sabalenka won the championship last year by beating Kazakhstan representative Elena Rybakina in the final.

Polish representative Iga Swiatek continues to lead the updated rankings of the Women’s Tennis Association WTA. While Belarusian representative Arina Sabalenko took second place, Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan completed the top three. The best Russian woman is Daria Kasatkina (13th place).
