37-year-old CSKA goalkeeper Igor Akinfeev became the oldest player in the Russian Premier League (RPL) after 38-year-old midfielder Christian Noboa left Sochi.

On January 24, it became known that Noboa went to Ecuador “Emelec”, where he started his professional career in 2004.

Noboa has been playing in Russia since 2007. As part of Rubin Kazan, the midfielder played more than 100 matches, twice became the champion of Russia and once won the country’s Super Cup. Noboa played more than 70 matches for Dynamo Moscow and then moved to Rostov, where he won the silver medal of the championship. The player joined Zenit St. Petersburg in 2017. He moved to St. Petersburg and again became the champion of Russia. The midfielder has been playing in Sochi since 2019.
