Russian hockey player becomes the first star of the week in the NHL

Minnesota Wild’s Russian forward Kirill Kaprizov was selected as the first star of the week in the National Hockey League (NHL).

Last week, the 26-year-old Russian played in four games and scored eight points (five goals and three assists). In the match against Carolina Hurricanes (5:2) Kaprizov scored his third hat-trick of his NHL career.

Kaprizov moved to Minnesota from CSKA Moscow in 2020, becoming a Minnesota player. In the current NHL season, he played 39 games, recording 18 goals and 24 assists.

The second star was Czech Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak. He has seven points (five goals + two assists) in three games. The third star was Logan Thompson, the Canadian goaltender of the Vegas Golden Knights. He helped his club win all three matches. On average, he saved 95.6% of shots per game with a safety factor of 1.34.
