Kaprizov’s hat trick gives Minnesota victory over Carolina

Minnesota Wild defeated the Carolina Hurricanes in a regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The match, which took place at the PCN Arena in Raleigh, USA, ended with Wild’s score of 5:2.

As part of the winning team, Russian striker Kirill Kaprizov scored a hat-trick. This NHL season, Kaprizov played in 39 games, recording 18 goals and 24 assists. During last season’s regular season, Kaprizov was the fifth most productive Russian behind Alexander Ovechkin, Evgeni Malkin, Artemy Panarin and Nikita Kucherov.

Yoel Eriksson Ek and Jacob Middleton scored two more goals for Minnesota. Martin Necas and Michael Bunting scored for the Hurricanes.

Carolina’s Russian players – goalkeeper Pyotr Kochetkov and forward Andrei Svechnikov – did not take part in the match due to injuries. Another Russian defender, Dmitry Orlov, could not score any points in the match.

While Minnesota got its second consecutive win in the regular season, Carolina suffered its second defeat in its last three games.
