Wimbledon 2022 finalist Australian tennis player Nick Kyrgios shared his views on Russian Daniil Medvedev.
“I thought Medvedev would be a terrible tennis player. I played with him in youth and won with a score of 6:3, 6:3. And I thought: “He really sucks.” I have never seen worse technology. Then I said: “He needs to let it go. He won’t achieve anything with these blows.” And now he’s a Grand Slam champion. It’s funny. He was also a psychopath,” Kyrgios said on Eurosport.
Medvedev is currently competing in the Australian Open. He will face Portuguese Nuno Borges in the fourth round. Last year, the Russian was eliminated in the third round, losing to American Sebastian Korda.
Serbian Novak Djokovic continues to lead the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) rankings (11,055 points). Spanish Carlos Alcaraz ranks second with 8855 points. Daniil Medvedev (7555 points) is in the top three. Fifth is Andrey Rublev (5010 points).
Previously Rublev was skeptical appreciated Their chance to face Sinner at the Australian Open.
