Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev evaluated his next opponent in the Australian Open tournament group.
“Sinner is another player who has had an unreal season. This year has already achieved amazing results. He beat me last time, so… I don’t know what to say. Looks like I’m not doing well. But I will try to do my best and we will see what happens,” Rublev said after the match.
In the quarter-finals of the Australian Open, Rublev will face Italian tennis player Jannik Sinner, who previously defeated Karen Khachanov in three sets.
In the 1/8 final, Rublev defeated Australian Alex de Minaur in a five-set match with scores of 6:4, 6:7, 6:7, 6:3, 6:0. The opponents spent just over four hours on the field.
In the Association of Professional Tennis Players (ATP) rankings, Andrei Rublev is in fifth place (5010 points). Serbian Novak Djokovic continues to lead (11,055 points). Spanish Carlos Alcaraz ranks second with 8855 points. Daniil Medvedev (7555 points) is in the top three.
