Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva recognized her opponent in the Australian Open 2024 1/8 final.

The 16-year-old Russian woman will fight for the right to play in the quarter-finals with Czech Republic representative Barbora Krejcikova. In the 1/16 final match, Krejcikova was stronger than the 29-year-old Australian Storm Chaser. The match ended with the score 4:6, 7:5, 6:3.

The 28-year-old Czech is behind Andreeva in personal interviews (0:2).

Andreeva defeated Parry with scores of 1:6, 6:1, 7:6. In the 1/8 final, Andreeva will play with the winner of the pair Storm Hunter (Australia) – Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic).

Besides Andreeva, the remaining Russians remained in the tournament: Anna Blinkova, Anna Kalinskaya and Maria Timofeeva.

In the updated rankings of the Women’s Tennis Association WTA, Andreeva is ranked 47th. The Russian made his debut at adult level in May 2022.
