On January 19, 16-year-old Russian tennis player Mirra Andreeva faced French representative Diane Parry in the third round match at the Australian Open and won with scores of 1:6, 6:1, 7:6.

Besides Andreeva, the following Russians remained in the tournament: Anna Blinkova, Anna Kalinskaya, Elina Avanesyan, Maria Timofeeva and Anastasia Zakharova.
In the previous rounds, the Russian woman had defeated American Bernarda Peru, who ranked sixth in the ranking of the best tennis players, and Tunisian representative Ons Jabeur. In the 1/8 final, Andreeva will play with the winner of the pair Storm Hunter (Australia) – Barbora Krejcikova (Czech Republic).
In the updated rankings of the Women’s Tennis Association WTA, Andreeva is ranked 47th. Polish representative Iga Swiatek continues to lead the rankings. Belarusian representative Arina Sabalenko took second place, while Elena Rybakina from Kazakhstan completed the top three. The best Russian woman is Daria Kasatkina.
