Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) club Siberia was deducted four points for violating the foreign player limit. press service KHL.

It was noted that the limit was violated in two matches played against Omsk Avangard, Yekaterinburg Avtomobilist and Astana Barys. In these matches, the following hockey players had “Foreign Player” status: Andy Andreoff, Taylor Beck, Fedor Gordeev and Trevor Murphy.

Due to the loss of four points, Siberia exited the play-off zone. The Siberians are in ninth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 51 points. Nizhnekamsk Neftekhimik is ahead of Sibir in additional indicators. Metallurg Magnitogorsk ranks first in the Eastern Conference with 74 points. Omsk Avangard ranks second with 71 points. In third place is Salavat Yulaev from Ufa with 66 points.

In the next match, Sibir will play against Salavat Yulaev.
