Russian forward and Washington Capitals’ captain Alexander Ovechkin did not take the ice in the National Hockey League’s (NHL) regular season match against the Anaheim Ducks.

Ovechkin missed his team’s last two NHL games due to a lower-body injury. The 38-year-old Russian player was not included in the match squad, although he trained before the home match with the Ducks. The striker misses the capital’s third consecutive match.
