President of the Russian Football Union (RFU) Alexander Dyukov spoke about the possibility of including Belarusian clubs in the Russian championship. His words are quoted “Sports Express”.
“For now, these are just the information I received from the press. Mr. Minister did not discuss this issue with me. There are many questions, organizational problems: compliance with the sports principle, etc. This issue is still at a very early stage. If there is more information, we will inform you,” Dyukov said.
In 2023, Russian Sports Minister Oleg Matytsin advocated the inclusion of Belarusian clubs in Russian competitions.
In the spring of 2022, the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) and the Union of European Football Associations (UEFA) decided to suspend the participation of the Russian national team and all Russian clubs in all competitions controlled by these organizations. Starting from spring 2022, Russian clubs and the national team will play only friendly matches.
Russian clubs other than Zenit did not play a single match in European cups in 2022.
Previously Orlov announced Transfer of the Russian football player to Zenit.
