16-year-old Russian tennis player Alina Korneeva reached the second round of the Australian Open with a strong victory against Spanish representative Sara Sorribes Tormo.
The match, which lasted 2 hours and 19 minutes, ended with scores of 4:6, 6:3, 6:2.
This victory was Korneeva’s first in an adult Grand Slam tournament.
In the next round, Korneeva will face the winner of Linda Fruhvirtova (Czech Republic) – Beatriz Haddad Maia (Brazil).
