Vasilevski becomes the most productive goalkeeper among Russians in the NHL

Tampa Bay Lightning’s Russian goalkeeper Andrei Vasilevski assisted the goal he scored against the New Jersey Devils in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL).

The match ended with Tampa winning 4:3 in extra time, and the goalkeeper’s pass helped his team to a decisive victory. Vasilevskiy started the Lightning’s scoring drive in overtime, scoring off a pass from Darren Reddish.

For Vasilevskiy, this point was the 19th of his NHL career. He became the most productive Russian goalkeeper in league history, surpassing Nikolai Khabibulin (18). In total, in the current regular season, Vasilevsky played 20 matches (without conceding a goal), in which he achieved an average of 89.4% of the shots with a safety factor of 3.0.

In the final game against the Devils, Vasilevski stopped 27 of 30 shots on his own goal.

Tampa sits in eighth place in the Eastern Conference standings with 47 points. New Jersey ranks ninth with 43 points. In first place is the Boston Bruins, who have 56 points, while in second place is the Florida Panthers, who have the same number of points, but are inferior to Boston in additional indicators. New York Rangers is in third place with 54 points.
