Tampa Bay Lightning faced the Los Angeles Kings in the regular season match of the National Hockey League (NHL). The match was played at the Amalie Arena stadium in Tampa and ended with a strong 3:2 victory for the home team in overtime.
Lightning’s goals came from Tyler Motte, Brandon Hagel and Nick Perbix. The home team’s Russian forward Nikita Kucherov could not score a point and ended their six-game winning streak. Kucherov remains the top scorer of the 2023/24 regular season. He has 67 points (28 goals and 39 assists) in 41 games. Tampa goaltender Andrei Vasilevski stopped 20 of 22 shots.
Phillip Danault and Matt Roy scored for Los Angeles. Kings defenseman Vladislav Gavrikov hit three shots and had two power moves.
Tampa sits eighth in the Eastern Conference with 45 points after 42 games. Los Angeles ranks sixth in the Western Conference with 47 points from 37 games.
Tampa will next face the New Jersey Devils and the Kings will face the Florida Panthers.
