Former player of Lokomotiv Moscow and the Slovak national team, Jan Durica, explained why he refused to shake Roman Shirokov’s hand after the match between the national teams. His words are quoted metaratings.ru.
In 2011, the Russian team defeated Slovakia with a score of 1:0 in the 2012 European Championship qualifying match. After the match, Shirokov said: “What made you think we couldn’t beat this collective farm?”
“Shirokov is a man who speaks his mind. Besides this saying about the collective farm, there are many other words. He wanted to attract attention with this. Then Sasha Samedov came to me and told me not to be angry with him.
These words were still in my mind and in the next match against Zenit I did not shake Shirokov’s hand because I have to be responsible for my words. I didn’t insult him or say he came from a village. “We must respect everyone, we must respect our opponents,” said the former football player.
Dyuritsa played in Russia for 10 years – first in Saturn near Moscow, then in Lokomotiv. He became the bronze medalist of the Russian Premier League (RPL) in the 2013/14 season. A season later the Slovakian won the Russian Cup as part of the “railway workers”.
After leaving Lokomotiv in 2016, Duritsa became a player of Turkish Trabzonspor. The defender completed his career in Dukla from the Czech Republic.
Duritsa has 91 matches for the Slovakia national team.
Previously Slovak reproached in the arrogance of the former Russian national team player.
