Spartak’s Serbian defender Srdjan Babic explained why he accepted the offer of the red-whites. His words are quoted MaxBet Sports.
“When people ask me why I’m moving, I often jokingly say that I want to move from plus 50 temperatures to cooler regions where temperatures are minus 50. From this point of view, I was not wrong. The choice was perfect and I fit in right away. More and more foreigners are coming to Russia, investments are increasing and it is clear that after the lifting of the ban all teams want to be ready to perform well in Europe,” said Babich.
Babich moved to Spartak in August 2023. Before that, he played for Almeria in Spain and for Red Star and Vojvodina in his hometown. In this season of the Russian Premier League (RPL), the Serbian defender played in 11 matches and scored one goal.
Spartak, which collected 30 points after 18 rounds in the RPL, is in fifth place in the rankings. Krasnodar entered the winter break as the leader of the RPL, having collected 38 points. In the 18th round, Vladimir Ivich’s team defeated CSKA with a score of 1:0. Zenit is in second place with two points missing. Dinamo (32 points) completed the top three.
