Former Lokomotiv president Olga Smorodskaya praised the transformation of Russian Atalanta midfielder Alexei Miranchuk. His words were quoted “Sports Express”.

“First of all, he had a difficult and long adaptation process. He lost faith in himself. This is a matter of psychology. The latter was struggling with injuries large and small. This was the basis for not being included in the composition. The third one was rented. Everything is more or less solved for him now. I think he learned the language and adapted to his teammates. I think now Gasperini sees his talent,” said Smorodskaya.

On January 7, Atalanta drew with Roma with a score of 1:1. Miranchuk stayed on the field for 90 minutes and made an assist.

The Russian player scored two goals and made four assists in seven games for Atalanta last month. Miranchuk made 15 appearances in all competitions for the team this season, scoring two goals and providing four assists. In Serie A, the team leader in the goal+pass system is Aruna Lookman (7+3).
