Oleg Romantsev, former coach of Spartak Moscow and the Russian national team, admitted that he has no plans to continue his coaching career. His words are quoted TASS.

“I didn’t think about it. No, I can’t, after all, apparently, working in this mode, I squeezed myself for a long time, although not completely. To work, you need to be ready to think, act, do something, work 24/7. I don’t have that kind of power, I treat football very honestly. Therefore, there is no such thought,” said the expert, who turned 70 on January 4.

Oleg Romantsev coached Spartak from 1989 to 2003. Under his leadership, the red-whites became champions of the USSR, eight-time champions of Russia, winners of the USSR Cup and three-time winners of the Russian Cup.

In 2009-2012 he was an advisor coach of Spartak and then retired from active work in football.

Romantsev coached the Russian national team from 1994 to 1996 and from 1998 to 2002. Under his leadership, the national team reached the finals of the 1996 European Championship and the 2002 World Championship.
