Three-time Olympic champion in figure skating and State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina said in a comment: Sports24How does he react to criticism that he has been living in the USA for 13 years?
“I react calmly to people’s criticism that I live in the USA. I lived [там]Like many other people currently living and working in Russia. It was a different time, not like now.
Many of them lived in Moscow while they were not yet born. And when most people wanted to move to Moscow, I went to the USA. And now I live in Moscow, where many began to flee somewhere. I don’t understand how there could be any criticism about the time I lived in the USA.
Why would you follow someone and look through the keyhole? You need to improve your life. And talking about someone and what’s going on in their life doesn’t lead to anything useful,” Rodnina said.
Rodnina won the Olympic Games in pair skating three times (1972, 1976 and 1980). He won the first medal with Aleksey Ulanov, and the second and third with Alexander Zaitsev. The pair also won world championship gold medals six times; skaters climbed to the highest step of the podium from 1973 to 1978. Rodnina and Zaitsev won the European championship seven times (1973-1978, 1980).
Rodnina and Zaitsev were together from 1975 to 1985. In their marriage, they had a son named Alexander. Later, the skater married a second time.
Previously Rodnina compared Life in New York and Moscow.
