A change has been named that will bring attention back to RPL 01:50

Football expert Konstantin Lepekhin said that the play-off system in the Russian Premier League (RPL) could return intrigue to the national championship. His words guide the way “Euro-Football.Ru”.

“In the last few championships, he disappeared five laps before the finish. Play-offs will add excitement. However, this system will still not have any impact on the level of the tournament. It seems to me that it is important to understand why these reforms were made. Reforms are needed to get the required number of matches,” said Lepekhin.

Zenit has been RPL champion for the last five years. After this, the club placed a second star on its jersey.

After 18 rounds in the RPL, Krasnodar entered the winter break as the leader with 38 points. In the 18th round, Vladimir Ivich’s team defeated CSKA with a score of 1:0. Zenit is in second place with two points missing. Dinamo (32 points) completed the top three.

The season will continue with Russian Cup matches in February. The first matches of the 19th round of the national championship will be played on March 3.

Previously former chairman of RPL named The team that will be champion this season.
