Former Real Madrid player James Rodriguez recalled his time in the Qatar Championship. His words are quoted Police station.
“Qatar culture is very complex. It is very difficult to adapt to this country. As you know, in football everyone takes off their clothes when taking a shower. And they scared me that it couldn’t be done.
Everyone there eats with their hands, which was very difficult for me. Everyone puts their hands on the plate and eats. They gave me this food but I chose not to accept it. They are crazy,” said Rodriguez.
Rodriguez played for Al Rayyan in Qatar from 2021 to 2022. The striker is also known for his jerseys for Porto, Monaco, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, Everton and Olympiacos.
At Porto, the Colombian became a three-time national champion and won the Europa League in the 2010/11 season. The midfielder won the Spanish title twice with Real Madrid and won the Champions League the same number of times. Rodriguez also won the national championship twice with Bayern.
Rodriguez has been playing for Brazil’s Sao Paulo team since 2023.
The Colombian striker became the top scorer of the 2014 World Cup and was in the symbol squad of this tournament.
