Fighter who received Russian citizenship cannot see his children due to US policy

American fighter Jeff Monson, who received Russian citizenship a few years ago and gave up his American passport in 2023, admitted that he cannot currently see his children who remain in the USA. His words guide the way TASS.

“I have three children left in the USA, but I won’t be able to see them there. “I will no longer get an American visa because I am against US policy,” Monson said.

The legendary MMA fighter became a Russian citizen in 2018. In 1971, America’s St. Paul and first announced his desire to change his American citizenship to Russian in 2013. In February 2023, the 52-year-old athlete renounced his US citizenship. Monson has performed in a variety of leagues and disciplines in the United States, including several fights in the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC).

Monson entered the parliament of the Republic of Bashkortostan in the fall of 2023. The MMA fighter had previously announced his intention to run for State Duma deputy in 2026. In March 2018, Monson became the holder of the United Russia party ticket, and in September of the same year he was elected deputy of the Krasnogorsk city district.
