Famous Russian boxer Konstantin Tszyu, former absolute world champion in junior heavyweight, spoke about the upcoming fight between Russian Dmitry Bivol and Briton Lyndon Arthur, champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) in the light heavyweight category. In his comments to socialbites.ca, Tszyu stated that it was difficult for him to evaluate Bivol’s opponent, adding that Dmitry still has time to fight at the highest level.

“I have not seen my opponent. You can judge differently. Bivol is now 33 years old; this is a normal age, there is still time, three or four years of good performances. If he does not feel immediately ready for serious opponents, he should still fight. Let’s see. You can go against the strong and the time between fights It won’t matter – he still played a role for me. But Bivol still has time,” Tszyu said.

Dmitry Bivol had 21 fights in the professional ring and won all of these fights. Moreover, his last fight to date took place in November 2022, when the Russian defeated previously undefeated Mexican Gilberto Ramirez by unanimous decision.

The fight between Bivol and Arthur will take place on Saturday, December 23 and will not start before 23:35 Moscow time. The Russian will make his sixth defense of the WBA Super title, while Arthur will defend his International Boxing Organization (IBO) belt for the first time.

Previously Bivol named The best boxer of 2023.
