The amount of prize money at the Russian Figure Skating Championship has been announced

General Director of the Russian Figure Skating Federation (FFKKR) Alexander Kogan explained what kind of prize money awaits the winners of the Russian Championship in Chelyabinsk. His words were reported by socialbites.ca correspondent.

“As you know, we kept all the prize money for all athletes so that they could have enough motivation. National champions will be awarded 2.5 million rubles for the first place, 1.5 million for the second place and 1 million rubles for the third place. These are quite big prize money. We maintained them fully throughout the season,” Kogan said.

The tournament will take place at Traktor Ice Arena between 20-24 December.

At the end of February 2022, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) appealed to international sports federations, recommending that Russian and Belarusian athletes not be allowed to participate in any competitions.

On March 1, 2022, the International Skating Union (ISU) suspended figure skaters from Russia and Belarus from competitions. In June 2023, the ISU extended the suspension.
