Three Russian hockey players were named NHL stars of the day

Russian Columbus Blue Jackets forward Kirill Marchenko was chosen as the first star of the day in the National Hockey League (NHL). This was reported by the league’s press service.

In the match against Buffalo Sabers (9:4) Marchenko scored his second hat-trick in the NHL. It took him 487 seconds to do so, the second fastest time in the club’s history.

The second star was Minnesota Wild’s Russian forward Kirill Kaprizov. His two shots helped the team defeat the Boston Bruins on the road (4:3 overtime). Kaprizov’s goal in overtime was victory for the club.

The third star of the day was Tampa Bay Lightning forward Nikita Kucherov. He scored a pair of goals and led the team to St. Louis. Helped them beat the St. Louis Blues (6:1). Kucherov ranks first on the scorers list this season with 54 points (22 goals and 32 assists).
