Former WBA world champion and Olympic heavyweight champion Alexander Povetkin named Russian Dmitry Bivol, who fought his last fight in 2022, as the best boxer of 2023. His words guide the way “Soviet sport”.
“We have many quality players, I hope they can go on the field and win the world title. But in my opinion, the strongest in 2023 is Bivol. Dmitry won the fight against one of the best boxers in the world, this fight was the most memorable. “I think he deserves to carry this title,” said Povetkin .
Bivol had 21 fights in the professional ring and won all of these fights. Moreover, his last fight to date took place in November 2022, when the Russian defeated previously undefeated Mexican Gilberto Ramirez by unanimous decision.
Russian boxer Povetkin had his last fight with Briton Dillian Whyte on the night of March 28, 2021.
