Russian football player scored his first goal in the UAE

Russian Zenit football player Zelimkhan Bakaev, who plays on loan at Al-Wahda, scored his first goal in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) championship.

The player stood out in Al-Wahda’s match against Al-Ain in the 11th round of the national championship. The match ended with the score of 2-0 for Bakaev’s team, and the goal he scored in the 54th minute was the second goal of the match.

The Russian player will join Zenit St. Petersburg in September 2023. He was transferred from St. Petersburg to Al-Wahda on loan. He played in 17 matches last season and scored one goal from a penalty. Bakaev, who plays for the Russian national team, played in 13 matches and scored 1 goal and 1 assist. Before the St. Petersburg club, he played for Spartak Moscow and defended their colors for eight years, from 2014 to 2022. Bakaev also played on loan at Arsenal Tula in his career.

On 6 October, Bakaev made his first assist in the away match against Bani Yas in the fifth round of the UAE championship.
