Russian swimmer Anna Egorova posted a photo in her Instagram story in a swimsuit by the pool (the owner of the company Meta is known as an extremist and is banned in Russia).
Egorova won three bronze and two silver awards at the European Championships. The swimmer has been competing in the Russian national team since 2017.
At the European Championships in Budapest in May 2021, Egorova won a bronze medal in the 4×200 meter freestyle as part of the mixed relay team. She also won the bronze medal in the 800-meter freestyle with a time of 8:26.56. Anna won the silver medal in the 400 meter freestyle.
At the end of the summer, Egorova expressed the hope that she would be able to participate in the Olympic Games to be held in Paris in 2024.
On December 8, the International Olympic Committee allowed athletes from Russia to participate in the 2024 Games with neutral status.
It was initially reported that eight Russians and three Belarusians received licenses for the Games, but on December 13 the IOC press service corrected this data. Now the organization’s website says that six Russian and five Belarusian athletes have won quotas for the Olympics.
In the same message, the IOC emphasized that “no flags, anthems or any symbols of Russia or Belarus will be flown at the Olympic Games” and “no government officials from Russia or Belarus will be invited to the Games.”
