Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) fighter Petr Yan has not ruled out a boxing match against Irishman Conor McGregor “Sports Express”.
“Boxing match with Conor? From a reality perspective, this is real. In terms of my job, I have a contract with the UFC. This is unlikely to happen anytime soon. Nothing is unreal,” Yang said.
At the end of September 2023, the Russian fighter announced that he had surgery. Yang has lost his last three fights. In March, Georgian Dvalishvili defeated the Russian by unanimous decision. On October 22, 2022, American Sean O’Malley defeated Petr Yan by split decision in their bantamweight fight at UFC-280 in Abu Dhabi. In April 2022, the Russian lost to Aljamain Sterling in the UFC-273 tournament. This meeting was vindictive in nature.
35-year-old McGregor’s last fight was against American Dustin Poirier at UFC 264. The meeting ended in the first round, as a result of which the Irishman suffered a broken leg.
