Former Spanish national team coach plans to lead last RPL team

Robert Moreno, former coach of Monaco and the Spanish national team, plans to become the coach of Russian Premier League (RPL) club Sochi. Journalist Matteo Moretto told about this on social networks.

Moretto noted that Moreno refused to lead the Kosovo national team for the sake of working in Sochi.

Moreno has worked on the technical staff of the Spanish national team since July 2018; He served as head coach of the national team from March to June 2019, and took charge of the main team from June to November 2019.

The expert served as head coach of French Monaco from December 2019 to July 2020. His most recent job was with Spanish team Granada, with whom he worked from July 2021 to March 2022.

In the Russian Championship rankings, Sochi ranks 16th with 11 points.

On December 10, Sochi drew with Orenburg (1:1) in the match of the 18th round of the RPL. In the next round, which will take place in 2024, Sochi will play away against Baltika Kaliningrad. The meeting will take place in early March.
