President of the Belarusian Hockey Federation Alexander Bogdanovich said that the organization received an application from a Russian club to participate in the national championship. His words guide the way TASS.

“We received an application from a Russian club, we will consider its participation. This will bring something new: emotions, competition, travel. We plan to expand the Belarusian championship to 14 clubs. We would be happy to accept this team if all conditions are met,” said Bogdanovich.

12 teams compete in the Belarus Extra League Championship. Dinamo Minsk plays in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). In the Youth Hockey League (MHL) – Bobruisk Dinamo-Shinnik.

In the spring of 2022, the International Hockey Federation (IIHF) decided to prevent Russian hockey players from participating in international tournaments, even with neutral status. The organization also stripped Russia of its right to host the junior world championship on home soil in 2023.
